Hey guys,
A couple of you were feeling pretty bowled over by the question I shared last week. Even some of my more active subs, who can normally keep up with the solution had troubles with certain areas. I understand that this can be quite demotivating, especially when you have been putting time and effort into preparation.
I just wanted to ask you to keep at it. It is a little cliche, I know, but there’s a reason that common sayings are … well common. Hard Problems aren’t meant for most of you. When I was younger, I got really into competitive programming (partially why I do so well with coding interview/Leetcode style problems). I spent hours competing and trying various problems. Hard Problems were meant to mess with people like me. People who dedicate time to this. Not people with full-time jobs and other commitments (y’all here have kids, full-time jobs, and hobbies). It’s not likely that your interviewer will expect you to solve one of those problems.
So why do I occasionally include hard problems in the newsletter? It’s not (just) to show off. I want you to see what they look like. Instead of building them up in your head, I want you to see that Hard Problems can be solved. They aren’t some invincible monster. Difficult to deal with, yes. But when you hit them, they will bleed. And with the right skills, you can come out on top.
Trust the process. Trust yourself. This newsletter and community has helped people ace their interviews at top tech firms. Others have cleared the interview hurdle, and with commitment, you will too.

For most of my students, mock interviews have been very helpful. Enough mock interview practice is the key between getting that job offer and rejection.
