Hello all,
I know we’ve been quite intense lately with some pretty big topics. I am a huge believer in taking it easy occasionally and having a little fun with things. By slowing down occasionally, we can reap the benefits of long-term consistency.
For this week’s Math Mondays, I’m sharing a collection of very interesting probability fallacies. They show how tricky probabilistic thinking can be, especially when we aren’t truly paying attention to it. It’s not very technical mathy so all of you should be able to follow along without problems. However, it will expose you to the many flaws that our reasoning has and why actively building our skills in formal logic and math is so important to improving our thinking. This thread is light on the mathematical notation, and instead uses simple examples, but don’t underestimate it’s potential for you.
Have fun going through them. As always make sure to note down which ones you got wrong, which ones you nailed, and how much you struggled with each of them. This will give you a good understanding of where your thinking is strong and what areas you need to improve.
In the comments below, share what topic you want to focus on. I’d be interested in learning and will cover them. To learn more about the newsletter, check our detailed About Page + FAQs
