Tech Made Simple is going to be completely Free

We will no longer have any paywalls on this newsletter

Hey everyone,

Quick little announcement post here. As mentioned in the title, Tech Made Simple is going free. That means I am removing all the paywalls in this newsletter. You can now access every article, I’ve ever written on TMS, for free (I’ll still honor the 6 month policy, so if you signed up to this newsletter within the last 6 months and you want a refund- shoot me a message and I’ll return all your money).

With this, we’ll be bringing some changes to the newsletter. The two major ones are as follows-

1. The output will be slow (there might be a week or two where I don’t publish anything here) since I will focus on AI Made Simple (I don’t have a strict writing schedule here, but I usually post 2-3 deep-dives here every week).

2. The productivity/networking/learning stuff will be moved to AI Made Simple.

So if that interests you, come find me over there.

This is a change I’ve been thinking about for a while now. To make a very long story short- the Stripe (payment processing platform for Substack) account for this newsletter is registered in India. Our government keeps changing regulations, which causes the Substack-Stripe-India integrations to keep breaking. Since India is not a big market for Substack, Substack doesn’t bother keeping up with these regulations. This is why so many of you have experienced constant payment failures when trying to subscribe. I’ve spent the last 2 years trying to get both Substack and GOI to pay attention, but neither cares.

After the most recent changes, everything broke (people have been unable to renew their subs- so I was on track to losing every subscriber). If you want an in-depth explanation, this post does a great job. So, I’ve decided to cut my losses and move on. It sucks b/c I’ve spent a lot of my energy building this newsletter up, but c’est la vie.

I’m really grateful for all your support. We reached Substack Bestseller status, got acknowledgements from some top names in the industry, and y’all helped me discover my talent in Meming. This has been an incredibly fun journey, and I’m excited to see whatever comes next.
